This should be taught to girls from when they start their periods. I learned about cycle syncing in my mid 30s and I wish I had known it sooner.

I totally agree! My school education on this is laughable/depressing. It’s great to hear that cycle syncing has made a positive impact on your life! I’ll be sure to write more on cycle syncing soon ✍️

Personally I think it should be taught to boys too. It’s revolutionised my husband’s thinking. Though in our house it’s happy, horny, hungry and bleed - he finds the scientific names cringier for some reason

Yes, I agree with you. My husband put my cycle tracker app on his phone so he knows when he can open certain topics and also when I should be left alone 😊

This was super insightful! I love how you gave action steps too! As someone who was prescribed birth control at a young age and continued to take it for 5 years, I wish I was taught more about other options before being prescribed a pill right away, so I really resonate with this!

How does skipping the placebo pills in a bc pack impact all of this (going straight to the next pack, never having a period)? I'm wanting to learn more about how my hormones work but struggling to find information

Sooo important and thank you for not demonizing homornal birth control! For some it's the best or only option and especially in the current state of things it's so important to keep as an option on the table

So useful, thank you. I take my periods as a messenger now. Finding I’m getting anxious around ovulation these days which is strange. Maybe perimenopause? But very much found keeping blood sugar level and overall being kind to myself has helped hormonally over recent years. I’ll be sure to teach my daughter all of the above much appreciated.

Healthy fats section should include animals fats from red meat. Far more important to whole body health that fats from fish or avocado. Especially for hormone production. We need saturated fats and cholesterol for our sex hormones, not unsaturated fats.

Reading your subtitle alone was enough to know this is a must-read article. The more I learn about how our bodies work each day, the more amazed I am by how little of this knowledge we’re actually taught. Thank you for sharing your insights — while facts may work differently depending on our unique mind-body type, one thing is certain: every woman should understand her body & hormones.
