Supplements for Female Hormone Health - What Actually Helps
Confused by all the advice out there? Here’s what I actually recommend to clients.
Admittedly, there’s a lot of noise out there when it comes to supplements.
So… what’s actually helpful?
In this post, I’m breaking down the supplements I most often recommend to clients for hormonal health, and sometimes take myself.
This is a follow-up to my post, 10 things I Wish Women Knew About Their Hormones.
Now, this is not about taking everything at once. That’s not only unnecessary, but expensive, overwhelming, and often counterproductive.
I’ll walk you through what each one does, when it might be worth trying, and who it might not be right for. These are not listed in order of relevance. This one’s been a labour of love. I wanted to make sure it was genuinely helpful.
Always check with your GP or a registered practitioner if you’re unsure or taking medication. I’m not in a 1:1 consultation with you right now. I don’t have your intake form in front of me!
You can find my favourite brands listed on my Amazon storefront here - I’ve included a selection of brands so there should be at least one available that you can order to your country of residence.
Alternatively, you can use this link here to get at least 10% off the products at my favourite wellbeing e-commerce store. They vet all the products and everything is really high quality. This is where I buy my wellbeing products most of the time. They also normally chuck in some freebies at checkout which is a niiice touch.
I hope you had a lovely weekend. I had a delicious lunch at The Lavery in London on Sat (I had been in London to deliver some corporate nutrition talks).
I flew back on Saturday night and on Sunday I worked on this post from bed, then headed to a spin class (booked via ClassPass - which you can try with 20 free credits here). After that, I went for a walk by the Tejo river in Lisbon. I’ve just started ‘Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself’ by Joe Dispenza. I’ve been meaning to read it for years, and so far it’s absolutely fascinating.
OK, let’s go!
1. Ashwagandha
An adaptogenic herb that helps the body adapt to stress. This is one of the few adaptogens with decent evidence behind it.
